GAP WIRE REMOVAL
April was such an exciting month! We had the Guides Against Poaching team staying with us, whilst they removed defunct telephone cables in the Matopos area. They removed over 59 km of wire, which is roughly 20,000 potential snares. Great effort by all involved in this fantastic project. They plan to return in May and continue.
WILDEBEEST CALVES GROWING UP
We had 6 wildebeest calves born over December / January calving season. It has been such a pleasure watching these little ones playing and growing up over the last few months. Farmhouse now has a total of 28 wildebeest.
CAMPSITE SOLAR LIGHTS
We have finished installing solar lights around the campsite area. Now you can
enjoy the bush and still be able to see what you’re eating. Our campsite boasts an amazing view, a large covered lapa with tables and chairs, as well as a lookout tower, and ablutions with hot and cold running water – including 6 toilets and 5 showers.
iNANKE CAVE
This is definitely a cave to see for enthusiasts. It is quite a trek though so only for those who are fit – roughly 6km one way, over kopjes and dwalas. We do recommend seeing this cave, however, due to the possibility of getting lost, we also suggest those wishing to see it book a guided tour with Black Rhino Safaris.
