FARMHOUSE MATOPOS
JUNE 2021 Newsletter #3
GAP WIRE REMOVAL
We had the privilege of having 3 more groups of GAP volunteers stay with us in May. To date 370km of wire has been removed from the Matopos area. We are very grateful to the volunteers and all sponsors of this initiative for their contribution to anti-poaching in Matopos.
LEOPARD SIGHTINGS
We have been lucky to catch a few pictures of leopards lately on our camera traps, as well as a few of them being spotted out and about. Matopos has the highest population of leopard in the world, but it is always exciting to find their spoor or sight one.
ROAD MAINTENANCE
Due to the heavy rainy season the dirt roads took quite a hammering. We have been busy filling holes and dragging to ensure the roads are nice and smooth for our future guests.
SILOZWANE CAVE
A beautiful and big cave, not too far from Farmhouse, Silozwane is well worth having a look at for cave enthusiasts. We can provide basic directions and GPS coordinates, or book a tour with Black Rhino Safaris for all interested in viewing this fabulous cave.
